Hello!
My name is Niamh, and I specialise in Costume in Theatre. I graduated in July 2022 with a First Class Degree in BA (Hons) Theatre and Digital Production at Bath Spa University.
Before University, I achieved a Distinction in a UAL Foundation Diploma in Art & Design. On my Wednesdays off from College, I discovered a love of the theatre by going to matinee performances in the West End! I bought the last-minute cheap seats, got the train up to London, and sat in awe at every performance. When I saw shows like 'Wicked', 'The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe', 'Waitress' & 'The Lion King', I often sat high up in the Gods staring at the stage like a kid in a candy shop.
As I was from an Art & Design background rather than Performing Arts, the thought of getting involved in the world of theatre had never occurred to me, but I've now worked professionally as a Wardrobe Manager and a Dresser at Theatre Royal Bath on various productions, including 'Into the Woods', 'Bugsy Malone' and 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?'. Whilst at University, I worked as a Costume Designer, Costume Supervisor, and Costume Assistant, and developed a knowledge of the backstage world and everything that goes into making the magic happen onstage.
