In 1st Year at University we read 'A Christmas Carol', and I chose to create a Georgian inspired skirt for 'Scrooge's Sweetheart'. We began designing the project in March, but had to create it at home with minimal supplies during Lockdown 1. I made my skirt out of bed sheets, and dyed the underskirt and waistband fabric pink. I also created floral embroidery (which I began experimenting with during Lockdown), a placket, my first button holes, hemming, gathering, and other sewing techniques that I got to develop along the way.
